Octopus Fleet launches FleetBoost, discounted UK public charging for fleets
Octopus Fleet launched FleetBoost on 7 October 2026, a scheme that gives UK businesses with electric fleets discounted rates at public chargers run by MFG EV Power, IONITY and Be.EV. Octopus says businesses that sign up could cut their charging bills by up to 30%, with savings of up to £730 per vehicle each year, and that more charge point operators will join.
Fleets pay an additional £10 (ex VAT) per driver per month for FleetBoost, according to Octopus Fleet's site, against Octopus's claimed saving of up to £730 per vehicle a year. The site describes FleetBoost as "an optional multi-network discount subscription you can activate for any driver on your Octopus Fleet account." Octopus's up to £730 figure is already net of that fee and assumes a vehicle travelling 15,000 miles a year at 0.3 kWh per mile. The fee comes to £120 a year per driver, so for a vehicle with one driver the top discount before the fee is about £850, by our arithmetic. The savings are quoted per vehicle; the subscription is charged per driver.
Coverage is the other half of the pitch. Octopus says its analysis of UK areas covered by FleetBoost shows 99% are within 14 miles of an eligible charger and 95% within 9 miles, and that the three operators give drivers access to "thousands of public chargers across the UK."
FleetBoost is sold through the Octopus Fleet platform, which Octopus says serves businesses across the UK and 13 European countries with home charging reimbursement, public charging and a Visa-backed Fleet Card for mixed fleets. Be.EV chief executive Asif Ghafoor said that "for too long, public charging has felt like the wild west for fleets, with little control over the experience drivers get."
