ProLogium says its 381 Wh/kg solid-state cell is in mass production

ProLogium Technology said on September 2, 2026 that its Gen 3.5 Lithium Ceramic Battery is in mass production at what it calls its Giga-level facility in Taiwan, the Taoke Gigafactory in Taoyuan, according to the company's release. The company says a third-party TÜV test report showed a 185.4 Ah large-format cell reaching 381 Wh/kg gravimetric and 903 Wh/L volumetric energy density.

The release also says UL Solutions tested the cell under China's GB/T 43568-2026 methodology and recorded weight loss below 0.05% after six hours under vacuum at 120°C, against a 0.5% maximum for all-solid-state classification; the conclusion that the cell can therefore be classified as all-solid-state is ProLogium's, drawn from that one measurement. GB/T 43568-2026 is a voluntary Chinese national standard in force since July 1, 2026 that classifies a battery as all-solid-state when its liquid electrolyte is under 5% by mass and it passes that vacuum-drying test, according to Battery Design's summary of the standard. The release reports no liquid-electrolyte mass fraction for the cell. The label has a price attached in China: the consumption tax that lithium-ion batteries began paying on September 1, 2026 exempts solid-state batteries through 2028, for products that meet the national standard and hold an accredited laboratory's test report.

"Mass production" arrives without a number. The release gives no production volume for Gen 3.5 and names no customer for it. The more than 2.4 million cells ProLogium says it has shipped on the Lithium Ceramic Battery platform since 2013 form what the release calls a manufacturing track record spanning consumer, specialty and automotive applications, and the one automotive customer it describes, a US audio-system supplier whose products go into vehicles from a Japanese automaker the release does not name, accounts for more than 900,000 of them. ProLogium says the same Giga-level line will make its Gen 4 cell, a fully inorganic electrolyte generation it is targeting at AI data centers, electric vehicles, maritime and aerospace, with only about 10% of the line and related equipment expected to need modification.

Scale-up beyond Taiwan is still a construction site. ProLogium's second gigafactory, in Dunkirk, France, held its groundbreaking ceremony in February 2026, and per the September release its first phase is designed for 4.0 GWh of annual capacity, expected to be reached progressively by 2030.
