Harbinger raises $240 million Series D for trucks, storage and defense

Harbinger announced on November 5, 2026 that it has raised $240 million in Series D funding, co-led by Tiger Global, Capricorn's Technology Impact Fund and Ridgeline. The Garden Grove, California company says the money will support the continued ramp up of its medium-duty platform manufacturing capacity and expansion across commercial vehicles, energy storage systems, power generation, autonomy software and defense applications. The release's headline credits Tiger Global alone; its first paragraph names all three co-leads.

The pitch has outgrown the truck. Harbinger now calls itself "an American industrial technology platform company" and describes itself as "a manufacturing platform powering the AI economy and electrification across mobility, defense and autonomy." Griffin Schroeder, a partner at Tiger Global, said "electrification has become one of the most pressing bottlenecks of the AI era." The investor list follows the pitch, naming "strategic investors in mobility FedEx and THOR Industries through TechNexus, as well as BuildGroup in data centers." Fidelity Management & Research Company, Squarepoint Capital, Xantium, Greycroft, Maniv and PanaceaVC are among the other participants, and Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley were placement agents.

Harbinger says it has raised over $650 million since its founding in 2021. Its Series C release, datelined November 12, 2025, put the total at $358 million after a $160 million round co-led by FedEx, Capricorn's Technology Impact Fund and THOR Industries, with Tiger Global among the previous investors taking part. By our arithmetic, the Series D covers $240 million of a climb of more than $290 million between the two releases; the new release does not say where the rest came from.

The trucks still carry the case. FedEx, which has ordered 2,000 all-electric Harbinger trucks valued at more than $300 million (announced on September 30, 2026), is back as an investor after co-leading the November 2025 Series C, and Harbinger says Paul Melander, FedEx's Senior Vice President of Safety and Transportation, has joined its board of directors.
