  • Bangladesh's first power reactor, Rooppur 1, reaches criticality

Unit 1 of Bangladesh's Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant, a 1,200 MW VVER-1200, reached criticality at 3:34 p.m. on October 11, 2026, the project said. Rosatom's chief puts power start-up in late November; plant sources expect 300 MW on the grid, potentially in December.
