  • Neoen inaugurates 92 MW Brittany battery to test grid-forming by software

Neoen inaugurated the 92 MW / 183 MWh Breizh Big Battery at Pleyber-Christ in Brittany on October 8, 2026. Grid operator RTE is leading a trial there, which Neoen calls unprecedented in France, to switch the battery's inverters from grid-following to grid-forming through a software update with no hardware changes; RTE's R&D director said the retrofit phase should in theory be complete by the end of 2026.
