Austria plans to swap its solar panel grant for a battery bonus in 2027

Austria's governing parties plan to replace the EAG investment grant for new PV arrays with a storage-system bonus from 2027, paid on application after completion, after the second 2026 call's money ran out in 33 seconds. The bonus size is still being negotiated, the law change needs a two-thirds majority, and the old system's last call, worth €38.5 million, runs October 8 to 22, 2026.
