  • Enova awards NOK 3.94bn to two floating wind demos off Karmøy

Norway's Enova awarded NOK 3.94 billion (about $427 million) on October 30, 2026 to Fortius Offshore Wind (NOK 2 billion) and Fram Wind Solutions (NOK 1.94 billion), which each plan two 18.5 MW floating turbines at the METCentre test site off Karmøy over the next five years; the money is paid out if the projects are carried out. Each turbine is larger than the site's existing 15 MW grid connection, and METCentre's new cable is progressing toward an investment decision, with completion estimated in summer 2029.
